The Ultimate Fall Outing for Families
Is Goebbert’s!
At Goebbert’s Farm & Garden Center, we know a thing or two about creating unforgettable fall memories. For generations, families across the Northwest Chicago suburbs have made us their tradition for autumn fun. With decades of experience, our team ensures every visit is packed with delight for all ages.
Our Annual Fall Festival
Our annual Fall Festival is renowned for its diverse activities. From meeting the animals in Animal Land to the excitement of our famous pig races, we guarantee smiles. Navigate our corn stalk maze or enjoy the endless fun on our jumping pillow – there’s always something to do.
A Tradition of Family Fun Since 1948
Goebbert’s story began in 1948 with a humble roadside vegetable stand in Arlington Heights, started by George Goebbert. In 1972, his son Jim bought the 40-acre farm in South Barrington. A year later, Jim’s kids began selling pumpkins by the roadside, and the response was overwhelming. That one busy weekend planted the (pumpkin) seed for what would become our Fall Festival.
By 1979, Goebbert’s had cemented its place as a fall destination when Jim added “Happy Jack,” the giant fiberglass pumpkin that still greets visitors today. At 18 feet wide and 15 feet tall, Happy Jack is an icon for families across the area. Today, though Jim and Esther have retired, their sons Lee and Lloyd continue the family tradition. During peak season we may employ over 250 people, but at our heart, we’re still a family-run farm devoted to creating joy.
More Than Just Attractions: Simple Joys Await
The magic of Goebbert’s extends beyond our main attractions. It’s in the timeless pleasure of finding the perfect pumpkin, savoring a warm apple cider donut, and capturing cherished family photos amidst our festive decorations.
We are committed to celebrating the very best of autumn, making sure your family leaves with lasting memories.
